Tiffany Bergin
Former Executive Director, Research and Evidence-Based Practice

Tiffany Bergin is the former Director of Research and Evidence-Based Practice. In this role she oversees a department dedicated to providing expert analysis on pretrial issues, as well as implementing and evaluating new initiatives at CJA. Since joining CJA’s Research Department in 2017, Tiffany has led research projects on courtroom decision-making and the impacts of pretrial detention, and has also helped grow CJA’s grant-funded portfolio.

Tiffany is the author of several books, including the textbook An Introduction to Data Analysis: Quantitative, Qualitative and Mixed Methods (SAGE Publications, 2018). She received her bachelor’s degree with highest honors from Princeton University’s School of Public and International Affairs, and holds an M.Phil. and Ph.D. in Criminology from the University of Cambridge in the United Kingdom.
