
Dalia Sharps is a Senior Program Associate at the NYC Criminal Justice Agency (CJA), where she focuses on emerging pretrial issues. In her role, Dalia oversees project management on a variety of initiatives related to the consequences of pretrial detention and the impact of unmet needs on pretrial outcomes. She also supports CJA's strategic planning and technical assistance efforts, working to ensure that best practices in pretrial services are disseminated to practitioners and policymakers alike.
Dalia has a decade of experience designing and implementing justice-related policies and programs in New York City, as well as an LCSW from New York University, and a BA from Vassar College. Prior to joining CJA, she worked at the NYC Mayor's Office to End Domestic and Gender-Based Violence, where she assumed various roles, including spearheading the agency’s legislative agenda. Beyond her role at CJA, Dalia is a clinical supervisor and psychotherapist at the Child & Family Institute, where she provides trauma-focused therapy on a sliding scale to individuals, families, and groups. She also volunteers as a community mediator at the New York Peace Institute. Dalia is deeply committed to advancing social justice issues through her work at the intersection of research and practice in the pursuit of bold, community-driven solutions to address harm.
