NOTES:
THE THIRD QUARTER 2002 DATASET
The dataset includes information about arrests in New York City from October 1 through December 31, 2002.

BAIL
Bail is the lower of the bond or cash alternative, if any, set at Criminal Court arraignment, for defendants for whom bail was set. The median bail amounts set exclude defendants for whom bail was set at $1, because $1 indicates that bail has been set (or the defendant was remanded) on another docket or another case.

CHARGE
Charge is the most severe charge leaving Criminal Court arraignment on the first docket.
